sexual and

relational therapy

"Sessions with Maggie are incredibly life-affirming and I look forward to them despite the challenging journey that we are navigating through the landscape of my sexuality. Maggie's ability to combine cerebral, emotional and body psychotherapy approaches means that the conversations have maximum impact."

In 2001 I completed specialist training to post graduate level in psychosexual therapy and relationship counselling, becoming a COSRT (www.cosrt.org.uk) accredited sexual and relationship therapist.

"We met with Maggie at a point in our marriage where we were completely stuck. Her empathic listening and wise questioning drew from me the deeper issues that I was wrestling with and created a framework where I could begin to see the wood for the trees. Her counselling brought me to a place where I could choose a way forward with integrity that is part of an ongoing process of bringing us together again in a new, honest and REAL relationship. I wouldn't have made it without her help."

“only when we're brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

Brene Brown (Daring Greatly)

I worked as a Psychosexual therapist within the sexual health department of St Richards hospital, Chichester for over ten years, taking referrals from GPs and Consultants for any sexual problem. I now see clients privately for relationship counselling and/or help with any sexual issue, individually or with their partner.

Our sexuality affects us all at different times in our lives and often chisels us back to seeing the underlying currents that profoundly affect us. Some of our realities can be hard to get out in the open, but once faced with courage and kindness, can bring the freedom that gets us back on track to being the person we want to be. Sometimes the best of people can benefit from a third party to help us navigate through unique seasons.

Relationship therapy can also be provided irrespective of whether there is a sexual component to what you want to talk through.

Psychosexual therapy is provided without prejudice for people of all orientations, in relationships or single. A respectful environment is provided for clients for whom faith, religion and cultural background are powerful factors in their experiences of sex and relationships and where the client wants that to be taken into account.

All my work adheres to the code of ethics of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists) and COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists).

I do not consider myself an appropriate practitioner to work with clients with sexually offending behaviour, defined by the 2003 Sexual Offences Act. For further referral on such issues you can contact Stop it Now 0808 1000 900 or the Lucy Faithful Foundation
